quest

I'm watching the Tyra show and there is a woman on here who is afraid of pennies! A fear of pennies, HA! Tyra buried a $6000 watch in an aquarium full of pennies. The lady can have it if she can get it. Of course she gets it and Tyra thinks she has saved this poor lady, but as soon as the lady gets her hand on the watch, she refuses to touch the pennies again. It's pretty amusing. The Tyra show is definitely one of my guilty pleasures. I was thinking, if they brought me on the show to face my fear of windmills, how the heck would they try to get me to overcome it?

Anywho, my first week back to work was a lot of fun. My assistant is none other than my childhood/highschool friend, Tully! I asked her to work as my sub on Tuesday and at the end of the day my boss hired her. So, I get to work with an old friend! It's great so far. The kids are...ok. The most we've had at one time so far is 7. I got punched in the butt yesterday. Such is the life of a camp counselor I guess.

Other than work I've started knitting a blanket! My first attempt ever at something other than a scarf. So far so good, except for a few mistakes here and there, but hey at the end it won't look so bad.I saw Matt Besser of Upright Citizens Brigade on Tuesday and a band Dragoon. He was funny, the band sucked...a lot.

I've been thinking and I need a new band to love. When I talk to someone they're all, "hey check this band out. I've been listening to them and I love them". I need one of those! I used to be on top of my music, but not lately. So begins my quest!

The mavs won game one of the finals! Go mavs! Watching mavericks games in Memphis isn't very enjoyable! Whenever I go out to a bar, the entire bar(those watching the game) are cheering for the team thats playing against the mavericks. Not because they love the team, but because they hate the mavericks. They are bitter because we knocked them out of the playoffs...with a sweep might I add. Actually, when we won game one, I did enjoy being there. The win was like a big fuck you to all who cheered so loudly when the heat were up.

Go mavs!

drink up girlies!

A study of 7,000 older women found that those who consume a moderate amount of alcohol have higher levels of mental function than non-drinkers.

Researchers at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center found that compared to non-drinkers, women who reported drinking up to two or three drinks per day performed better on measures of global cognitive function, which includes concentration, language, memory and abstract reasoning.

My week off from work was great. Full of warcrafting and...yea, that's about it. Oh, I went to an 80s night in Memphis on Tuesday. It was at the Hi-Tone and it was a blast! I'm definitely going to attend that more often. It reminded me of Hailey's, but on a lot smaller and less sweatier scale. On to other subjects...GO MAVS! Dirk hit 50 points last night! How awesome, right? I guess it was payback for the less than dirk-tastic performance Tuesday night.

I've been getting the strangest messages on myspace lately. Really strange, asking my hand in marriage among other things...I would post some of them, but I don't want the people who sent them to find out. This blog is linked from my myspace profile. Ah, well, if I get a really funny one I won't hold back on posting.

I start my bellydancing class tomorrow! I'm oh so excited. I've wanted to do it for such a long time and now I can! I'm taking a 6 week beginner class. And if I like it, and if I'm good enough, I'll move up and take the next level. Pretty soon I'll be giving you guys shows..hehe...or not.

someone's at my door. Ill finish this later

I live in the country

I definitely live in the country. Deer and bunnies frolic in my front and back yards. The funny thing is that we live in a residential area. Quite odd if you ask me. I had a pretty good weekend. I went out with Christine Saturday night. We barhopped and went dancing all over town.It was tons of fun, minus the being harassed and touched by random men on the street. I don't know what makes some men think they have the right to do that. I was definitely not doing anything to warrant that behavior. In fact, I was probably doing the exact opposite. When walking through large crowds like the one we encountered when the harassment happened, I fold my arms and walk without even acknowledging people around me. eh...Whatever. I had fun. Yesterday was full of warcraft and off to Jeremy's dad's house for a family cookout. That was...Interesting.

I hit 40 on World of Warcraft and I have a mount :D

also, go mavs! The game last night was awesome! I was worried in the beginning, but those mavs pulled through.

I'm going to try something new with my hair tonight. Hopefully it'll turn out ok in the morning. I'm going to wash it and braid it while it's wet and tomorrow I'm going to unbraid it so that I can have wavy/curly hair. I'm hoping it will look ok and not like a disaster...If it comes out alright I'll post pics. If it doesn't I'll still post pics.

nerdddddddddo

The past week has been pretty nerdy. Extremely nerdy actually. I've played far too much warcraft. On Monday I was a level 34 and now I'm a 38 and a half! That's a lot of time spent on playing WOW guys...A lot. I'll be so happy to hit 40 and get my mount! /end nerdiness

actually one more quite nerdy thing. I went to see xmen3 along with Jeremy at midnight. The theatre was really full. We got pretty shitty seats. The movie was ok though. Cheesy at points, but ok.

know what's sad? That that is all I have to report. Not much else has been going on!
So, now I'll entertain you with my thoughts on some random things

1. Mavs vs. Suns- Tonight is game 2 of the Western Finals. Game 1 was a really good game. OH so close! But the Suns took the lead within the last minute. It sucked. I have no idea who will take this series. My heart is with the Mavs, of course, but it's going to be a difficult win.

2. My Tolerance Level- has greatly lowered due to my relocation to Memphis. I used to be a champ...and now I'm gone after 2 or 3 beers. The positive of this is that I don't spend so much money, the negative-I'm not a champ!

3. 43 things-I signed up for this website(www.43things.com/person/ohpapaya). It's pretty cool. Basically you set up an account, and write your goals in a list form. It shows you how many people share your goals, and people write entries about the goal when they've completed it or when they are working on it. It's pretty cool and I'm probably doing a bad job of describing it so check it out yourself.

here's my list so far

(here they are if you cant see from my screen shot)
1.visit California
2.sing karaoke
3.knit a blanket
4.watch the entire series of sex and the city
5.learn to belly dance
6.lose weight
7.Ride on the back of a motorcycle
8.go on a ghost hunt
9.Spend the night in a haunted hotel
10.hit level 60 in World of Warcraft
11.Complete Zelda- The ocarnia of time
12have a song written about me

4. READERS-so I have a stat counter on this blog and I know I have readers...some are even regular visitors. but who the heck are you? Say something every now and then so I can know who's reading...i'm curious.

5. GO MAVS!

6. I just did spell check on this blog and I spelled working "workign" and they suggested the word ORGASM. what?!

Only my thoughts

Hey! Let's not publish pictures of women in magazines or newspapers! They lead men astray!

This is absurd! You know, why don't we just make a separate country exclusively for women to live in so as not to distract men?! There is definitely a problem when man can be lead astray by something as simple as a woman showing her face. An even bigger problem when people think that so strong of a measure as this should be taken. It's like that whole dress code thing in high school. WE were instructed not to wear certain things, because "it distracts the young men".

FUCK THAT!

I think this is appropriate
